Daily excursion, among the most beautiful, with a picnic lunch in one of the natural reserves of the Sicani Mountains park, between the towns of Prizzi and Castronovo di Sicilia. From the Traina farm, after a moment of welcome and a brief briefing, we ride along the gorge formed by the Sosio river between the Indisi and Hippana mountains. Going back up part of the river bed, we cross an area of historical importance, initially the site of a Sicano outpost and later of an important Greek Polis. We then continue in the direction of Prizzi, which we will pass through stretches of ancient “trazzere” and disused railway roads.
After passing Prizzi, the view opens up to the landscape dominated by the strong presence of Carcaci Mount, whose forest represents (together with those of Monte Scuro, Monti of Palazzo Adriano and Monte Genoardo), an important native Sicani lung where the presence of different species of oaks , oaks trees and holly oaks favors the development and protection of the typical Mediterranean scrub.
Along the way, the panorama stretches to the north-eastern border of the Sicani Mountains, marked by the presence of the Madonie Park mountains, an exciting view that allows you to take in all the naturalistic richness of Sicily.
Once we reach the resting point and tie our horses, we will be pampered by our staff with a picnic full of typical products.
Once refreshed, we reassemble on the saddle to return to the Company, retracing some of the route but dotted with variations that take us back to our destination in time to still enjoy precious moments of relaxation.
