Two-day ring trip through one of the main natural areas of the Monti Sicani Park to reach the town of Burgio, discovering its characteristics and history. Starting from the Traina farm, in the territory of Prizzi, we move to the town of Palazzo Adriano passing the Salomone Stone, one of the most important geological sites in Sicily, and then entering the Natural Reserve of P. Adriano and Valle del Sosio Mountains, an authentic corner of paradise with almost 6 thousand hectares of uncontaminated woodland between the Provinces of Palermo and Agrigento, in the territories of Burgio, Bivona, Palazzo Adriano and Chiusa Sclafani. Among dense forests, meadows and streams that interconnect with gorges, ravines and steep cliffs you can continue for hours without finding traces of human settlement, with the possibility of admiring the natural spectacle offered by the Sosio river, which flows in a natural canyon surrounded by forests of oaks and downy oaks, clearings and valleys covered with rich vegetation, passable in some parts during the spring / summer period.
Of particular importance, inside the Reserve are the historic buildings such as S. Adrian Houses and the Rifesi Sanctuary.
The destination is the town of Burgio that falls within the Reserve, in the Province of Agrigento, of which we will discover its typical features: the historic craft shops linked to the production of artistic ceramics with the characteristic colours that recall earth and nature, the bells foundry dating back to the 1500s, the only reality remaining in southern Italy, the historic centre with the various churches.
Dinner and overnight stay
Return through a path that explores a different and new part of the vast natural reserve and then reaching by saddle the village of Palazzo Adriano where we will stop for a lunch break. Short visit of the village and then getting back on the road towards the Traina farm where we will arrive in the afternoon. Horse accommodation and relax.

For trekking, a good experience in outdoor horse management on the three gaits is required. Suitable and comfortable clothing is recommended to mount on the saddle, and better if suitable for possible seasonal temperature changes. IMPORTANT: for the insurance coverage, a health certification must be issued.
