The horses and ponies that we will use for our trekking are bred and trained here. Historically owned and managed by a local family, the company is a good combination of <strong>agriculture and horse breeding<\/strong> with experiences of hospitality and rural tourism. Welcome, room arrangement and presentation of the staff.<br \/>\nIn the afternoon we will do a first test ride to test our horse and the Sicilian country roads.<br \/>\nDinner and overnight stay<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section\" id=\"1676808168369-0af56385-5a96\"><button class=\"w-tabs-section-header\" aria-controls=\"content-1676808168369-0af56385-5a96\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-title\">Day 2<\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section-control\"><\/div><\/button><div  class=\"w-tabs-section-content\" id=\"content-1676808168369-0af56385-5a96\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-content-h i-cf\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong>Prizzi &#8211; Corleone (6 hours)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After a good breakfast we leave calmly along the old railway line that connected the various internal territories.<\/p>\n<p>Crossing fields of farmers who cultivate local products, we will reach the gates of the city of <strong>Corleone<\/strong> until we arrive at <strong>Masseria Ridocco<\/strong>, a suggestive place managed by 2 brothers, horse and cat lovers, belonging to a historic local family.<\/p>\n<p>After arranging the horses and having refreshed ourselves, a particular experience will be planned: Visit of ancient <strong>Corleone<\/strong>, with a walking tour together with <strong>Marilena Bagarella<\/strong>, who will tell about her life experience in one of the symbolic cities of the Sicilian mafia. Today she deals with courses on legality and civic education for schools and for various types of guests.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner and overnight.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section\" id=\"1676808212057-c87a52ff-24d1\"><button class=\"w-tabs-section-header\" aria-controls=\"content-1676808212057-c87a52ff-24d1\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-title\">Day 3<\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section-control\"><\/div><\/button><div  class=\"w-tabs-section-content\" id=\"content-1676808212057-c87a52ff-24d1\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-content-h i-cf\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong>Corleone &#8211; Abbey of Santa Maria del Bosco &#8211; Sambuca si Sicily <em>(6 hours)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Crossing the countryside fields we will arrive at the <strong>Monte Genoardo<\/strong> nature reserve. Inside the wood is the magnificent ancient <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abbaziasantamariadelbosco.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abbazia di Santa Maria del Bosco<\/a>(medieval period) managed by the &#8220;Inglesi&#8221; family. Today it is a place where it is possible to dine and stay overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Guided tour of the abbey and packed lunch organized by the owners.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing the trek inside the wood towards <strong>Mamaterra<\/strong>, next to the village of <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/syR7jUAxdxCRKxfLA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sambuca di Sicilia<\/a>, a sweet little farm run by Mauro and Marcella, a nice couple dedicated to agriculture and educational activities. They also produce their own pasta and bread with ancient grains.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner and overnight.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section\" id=\"1676808245201-8059f620-bfc5\"><button class=\"w-tabs-section-header\" aria-controls=\"content-1676808245201-8059f620-bfc5\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-title\">Day 4<\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section-control\"><\/div><\/button><div  class=\"w-tabs-section-content\" id=\"content-1676808245201-8059f620-bfc5\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-content-h i-cf\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong>Sambuca &#8211; Sosio river and valley &#8211; Burgio <em>(6 hours)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From Mamaterra we will move to reach the <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/ZankbYAFfJp2HhRUA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riserva Naturale Valle del Sosio<\/a> and Monti di <strong>Palazzo Adriano<\/strong>, until we arrive near a wooded area for a particular picnic lunch prepared by our staff with a swim in the Sosio river, an ancient stream that crosses the <strong>Monti Sicani<\/strong> up to the western coast between the cities of <strong>Sciacca and Ribera<\/strong>, forming deep gorges between wild and uncontaminated nature.<\/p>\n<p>Our Trek will continue inside the river for a few km and with a suggestive single trek inside the Lecco forest and downy oaks typical of the Sican landscape, the last of our journey.<br \/>\nArrive at a local farmhouse.<\/p>\n<p>Relax and visit the village of <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/qJVPDR59U5CbYzZz8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Burgio<\/a>, famous for its local ceramics and bell foundry.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner and overnight.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section\" id=\"1676808309573-27a3981b-6a0f\"><button class=\"w-tabs-section-header\" aria-controls=\"content-1676808309573-27a3981b-6a0f\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-title\">Day 5<\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section-control\"><\/div><\/button><div  class=\"w-tabs-section-content\" id=\"content-1676808309573-27a3981b-6a0f\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-content-h i-cf\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong>Burgio &#8211;\u00a0Cianciana <em> (5 hours)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Starting from the agriturismo we head south along rural roads and paths that cross the hills.<br \/>\nWe will partly follow the river until we reach a picnic stop in the countryside.<br \/>\nThis area is characterized by citrus and olive groves that grow as far as the eye can see.<br \/>\nIn the afternoon we will reach a farm where the horses can rest for the night;<br \/>\nWe will continue by car towards Cianciana, a small Sicilian village where time seems to have stopped. We will stay in authentic houses in the historic center, today transformed into delightful family-run B&amp;Bs.<br \/>\nThe evening ends with a typical dinner in a local restaurant, to taste the genuine flavors of Sicilian tradition, accompanied by the warmth of island hospitality.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section\" id=\"1676808352315-dfb757a8-5a1a\"><button class=\"w-tabs-section-header\" aria-controls=\"content-1676808352315-dfb757a8-5a1a\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-title\">Day 6<\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section-control\"><\/div><\/button><div  class=\"w-tabs-section-content\" id=\"content-1676808352315-dfb757a8-5a1a\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-content-h i-cf\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong><b>Cianciana &#8211; Eraclea Minoa<em> (5 hours, 30 minutes)<\/em><\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After a breakfast in a typical bar in the village, we will return to the farm to find our horses and continue on our journey.<br \/>\nToday&#8217;s route leads us towards the south-western coast, through a rugged and primitive nature, where every glimpse tells of an ancient, strong and wild Sicily.<br \/>\nBreak for the last lunch inside a shaded eucalyptus forest in a moment of quiet and sharing.<br \/>\nContinuing, the gaze will open towards the horizon: the sea will suddenly reveal itself, between golden fields and rolling hills.<br \/>\nFinally, we will reach the beach of Eraclea Minoa, where we will treat ourselves to a short but unforgettable horseback ride on the shore, between the waves and the sand.<br \/>\nIn the afternoon, we will say goodbye with gratitude to our horses, who will return home.
