Daily excursion, among the most beautiful, with picnic lunch in one of the nature reserves of the Monti Sicani park, between the towns of Prizzi and Castronovo di Sicilia. From the Traina farm, after a moment of welcome and a brief briefing, we ride the gorge formed by the Sosio river between the Indisi and Hippana mountains on the saddle. Going up part of the river bed, we cross an area of historical importance, initially the site of a Sican outpost and later of an important Greek polis. We then continue in the direction of Prizzi, which we will pass by crossing stretches of old trazzere (trazzere) and now disused railway roads.
After Prizzi, the gaze opens up to the landscape dominated by the strong presence of Monte Carcaci, whose wood represents (together with those of Monte Scuro, Monti di Palazzo Adriano and Monte Genoardo), an important autochthonous lung of the Sicani where the presence of , oaks and holm oaks favors the development and protection of the typical Mediterranean maquis.
During the walk, the panorama extends until it reaches the North-Eastern border of the Sicani Mountains, marked by the presence of the Monti Del Parco delle Madonie, an exciting view that allows you to perceive all the naturalistic richness of Sicily.
Once we have reached the staging point and secured the horses, we will be pampered by our staff with a picnic full of typical products.
Once refreshed, we get back on the saddle to return to the Company, retracing some of the stretches of the route but dotted with variations that take us back to our destination in time to still enjoy precious moments of relaxation.
